1948 Chrysler Town And Country

These were a luxury-limited production that came in two models, sedan and Convertible. 8,368 were sold between 1946 and 1948. The convertibles were the most popular. The models were virtually unchanged through the years and the original price was $3395. The wood body was made from white ash with mahogany filler panels. They are a large car with 127.5-inch wheelbase and 323.5 cubic inch split fire straight eight engine with 135 HP. The transmission was an early type of semiautomatic fluid drive, today they are among the most desirable among collectors. They are a beautiful work of art blending metal and wood craftsmanship.
