Here is something very unusual. This is a running and driving Batmobile from the 1989 movie with Michael Keaton and Jack Nickolson. This car was brought in after it had been damaged in transit to St. Louis to be displayed for the opening of the new Batman ride at Six Flags. The body/shell had to be taken off to make the repairs and since the debut was to be televised it was decided that the whole car would be refinished. The sliding canopy and windows also needed repair because they had been broken. There was an impending deadline that required working nights and weekends to finish the car on time. Once it was completed ahead of schedule it was decided that we would show the car for free to local children in the area. With the crew dressed in costumes and a search light with the bat wings in the parking lot, the turnout was overwhelming. It was estimated that as many as 10,000 people showed up to view the car throughout the evening. We all remember the event fondly and it may be the most fun we had showing off one of our cars.
